Outdoor shoots always get me a little nervous. We can't always predict the weather and we certainly can't change it, so we work with what we have. And did we ever have great lighting last Thursday night. A sky full of of clouds with the sun peaking through--every photographer's dream come true.
I got to Terre Bleu, a beautiful lavender farm located in Milton, a little early while the sun was still beaming and talked to Lesley, their Marketing Manager about the best places to shoot. I had shot at the farm once last summer, but it's always good to ask the staff about spots you may not know about, especially if you're a photographer on the clock. It seems that we scheduled the shoot at just the right time, with the lavender fields in full bloom for the summer.
I had about an hour and a half to create some magic with my mom and dad to be, and I think we nailed it. Min and AJ were super easy to work with (even after being eaten alive by mosquitoes in the forest!) and I loved how clean they kept their look. They were open to all of my ideas and didn't shy away from sharing some of theirs, which is key to a successful shoot. My favourite part of the night was the gender reveal at the very end. It's always a fun shoot when the couple doesn't mind getting a little dirty!
